I apply steady, even, and maximum pressure on the fish using my fingers on the reel spool, and I know how much pressure I can apply before my leader breaks
To accomplish the walk-the-dog action, twitch downward on the rod on a semi-taut line
I dont think I can base all of that on the color since the walk the dog action is great on this lure, but I like to think the orange blaze helps the fish decide to hammer that lure
For those who are aware of that, Abu Garcia is a perfectly good choice
Even if I were to go up to a 12-pound leader which is about 0.25mm, the 8-pound mainline is still likely still stronger and it wont break before the leader does so there is no need to go to a 10-pound mainline
With a little practice and a lot of patience, its certainly doable
